RACE Recap: Sharkbite Half-Marathon and 5k 2024

 

Another successful SharkBite race in the books!!!  

Every January in the SharkBite capital of the world, New Smyrna Beach, FL the SharkBite Half Marathon and 5k happens. This year I decided to do the 5k Challenge, which is a 5k Saturday Morning along the intercostal and a 5k Sunday morning beach side. 

The Sunday race does not have you run on the beach at all, but through the neighborhoods. You get to look at all the cute and quaint houses along the way.  I have done the half marathon route several times in the past and wanted to change it up a bit. You still get the same perks running the shorter distance. 

Free pint of beer on Sunday in your new pint glass! Pizza and snacks. Vendors and more!  Have I mentioned the medals are HUGE!!!!!!!! Red Pointer Productions always have the best medals!!!! 

Parking...... it's always hit or miss. On Saturday there are several small lots that you can park in for Free.  For Sunday, you can wake up super early and get street side parking. Or you can pay to park ($20-?) in specified lots. A lot of the local business block off their lots which sucks!
